Pity that now they want to burn out Aloha and make Hawaiian a play ground for elites.

Dang that's rough they have to eat raw fish on their voyage 😅 i hope they got wasabe and soy sauce for dat.
Can you just put super glue at the ends of the trash bag, and glue the next strand? That way no need to stop mid lei? Also, can someone explain to me whats the difference between one Haku and Lei Po’o ?? Cause I grew up always calling a head lei .. a haku lei. But apparently I was wrong my entire life. Gotta call it one Lei Po’o. Which I know Po’o is head. Can you tell me the difference?

PLASTIC ROPES ON YOUR BOAT OU ...REVIVAL OF YOUR PLASTIC CULTURE FRAUDULENT WORDS ... REALLY JUST A COMFY COMPROMISE , NO RESPECT FROM ME . YOUR ALL PRETENDING TO BE TRADITIONAL . FAIL
I keep finding beautiful stories about the cultural revival. That is indeed wonderful. Brought tears to my eyes. Still, I want to hear more about the science. This seems like a great example of ancient tools enabling the same science as modern tools. Like people who relearn ancient construction engineering techniques. The crew's ability to read the ocean fascinates me. If that amazing skill is a revival, I can only imagine what has been lost. How much can we learn about how marine animals navigate from watching how humans do it?
Very cool!
Kanui Ka pai e ho.
On the whole this is really well done but I have some comments. The interviews seem to be at least 50% of the video and the shots of people paddling were so short it was hard to see what was going on before the video switched to another view.
HOO HAA HOO HAA CHOK TONGA CHOMA LOMA CHONGA HUINGA HUINGA
Just as he’s mentioning native forests at the start, at 00:58 are those mullein growing on the side of the road?? AKA _Verbascum_ species. Yikes, it’s even in Hawai’i? It’s global now. Hah? It looks nice at least and it is very healthy and medicinal. For thousands of years too. I hope people know that much about it… nonetheless, it’s spread like wildfire, just as many hardy species of plants have, globally. I’m not sure of its affect on Hawaiian ecosystems though, good or bad or neutral.
Great video, very well made. Some beautiful birds and glad to see that there were steps 12 years ago that were being made to help bring some birds back. I would love to see what those same two sides of the fence look like today. I love the wave at the end.
